Beverly Hills, CA – Sunday 11/17/24 Join us at the Waldorf Astoria as we bring together community leaders, philanthropists and change-makers for an enlightening morning of inspiration and action. Keynote speaker, The Hon. Sherri Sobel Ret. will share poignant insights from her extensive experience in the child welfare courts.
A powerful panel featuring courageous former foster youth will also take the stage, sharing their personal journeys, triumphs, challenges and providing light to solutions to a broken child welfare system. This unique opportunity offers a glimpse into the resilience and determination of these remarkable individuals.
Event proceeds benefit Wings of Empowerment, a new housing program for young women aged out of foster care experiencing homelessness, (it’s a joint venture between Angels Nest and Butterfly’s Haven, another housing program focused on foster youth that are single mothers.) Angels Nest is committed to creating the “foster care to success pipeline,” and support youth towards a life of stability and independent living. 40% of the homeless in Los Angeles are youth from foster care. 85% of victims of sex trafficking in the U.S. are youth from foster care. Only 5% of youth ever make it to college.
1500 T.A.Y. aged out of foster care every year. Angels Nest is working to create better outcomes for these deserving youth by acting as a safety net and get them onto a path of upward mobility.
