A Meaningful Conversation About Foster Youth and Hope on Deborah Kobylt LIVE

At Angels Nest, we are always grateful for opportunities to bring more awareness to the realities foster youth face as they transition into adulthood. That is why we were honored to have our Executive Director, Arzo Yusuf, featured on Deborah Kobylt LIVE for a heartfelt and important conversation about foster care, transitional support, and the urgent need for community involvement.

This interview highlights a difficult truth. For many youth in foster care, turning 18 does not mark the beginning of independence in the way it does for most young adults. Instead, it can mean entering adulthood without stable housing, reliable support, financial resources, or the guidance needed to navigate school, work, and daily life. It is a reality that far too many young people face, and it is exactly why Angels Nest is so committed to this work.

During the conversation, Arzo shares the heart behind Angels Nest’s mission and the very real ways support can change the trajectory of a young person’s life. From rent assistance and groceries to educational support such as tuition, books, and laptops, Angels Nest works to help current and former foster youth pursue stability, opportunity, and a stronger future.

This work is about so much more than services. It is about reminding young people that they are seen, valued, and worthy of support. It is about helping them move forward with dignity and confidence. It is about making sure they do not have to face one of life’s most important transitions alone.

We are deeply thankful to Deborah Kobylt for using her platform to help elevate this conversation and bring more attention to the needs of foster youth in Los Angeles County. Greater awareness leads to greater compassion, stronger partnerships, and more opportunities to make a difference.

We invite our community to watch and share this interview and to stand with us in supporting young adults as they work toward independence, higher education, and a brighter future.

Together, we can continue creating pathways of hope and opportunity for youth transitioning out of foster care.
